Linda Masarira Renames MDC-T Page To Her New Party, Rakes In More Followers
FORMER MDC-T national spokesperson Linda Masarira, who was fired from the party following a dramatic fallout with the Thokozani Khupe team last month, has explained why she went away with the MDC-T social media pages and renamed them to her new party LEAD.
Followers of the MDC-T (Khupe) page on Twitter were shocked to find the page renamed to LEAD.
In an interview with ZOOMZimbabwe, Linda Masarira admitted that she renamed the group after her new political outfit.
“I created the groups myself… When it was an MDC-T twitter handle, it had 500 followers. After I renamed it to LEAD it has nearly 1000, all in a few hours,” Masarira said.
Masarira was appointed MDC-T spokesperson when Thokozani Khupe split from the MDC led by Nelson Chamisa before Zimbabwe’s 2018 elections, but was expelled on April Fools’ Day for wearing Zanu PF regalia with President Mnangagwa’s face.
